Tendency of the Mind

Viparyaya means the mind making up its own universe, which is very different from what actually is in reality.

You have an inferiority complex and you suddenly see someone's behavior to be very arrogant. They are not arrogant, you are not ill-treated by them but you suddenly feel that you have been ill-treated.

You feel that you have not been respected. Because you don't respect yourself enough, you think others do not respect you. This tendency of your mind is Viparyaya.

Others will be shocked with your behavior. They will say, 'What happened to this person?! Till now they were alright. Suddenly they started behaving very funny.'

Have you noticed this? A friend of yours suddenly starts behaving very funny and very rude, and you wonder, what has happened, what did I ever do to this person.
You do not understand that they are cooking in the soup of their own mind.
Why? Not that they are bad or anything. It is just this activity of the mind that is predominant, which is called Viparyaya.
